CLEVELAND -- After reviewing the film of his team's 96-83 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, surely Cleveland Cavaliers head coach found some adjustments he would have made to his rotation, right?
"No," Lue answered bluntly when asked that very question on a conference call on Thursday afternoon.
Following their latest loss to the Celtics, most of the criticism of the Cavs -- from fans and media alike -- seemed to center on Lue' rotation, in particular, his use of Kyle Korver.
Despite scoring in double figures in each of Cleveland's three previous games, Lue opted to play Korver a series-low 19 minutes, his first action not coming until the start of the second quarter.
After the game, Lue explained that when Boston head coach Brad Stevens opted to leave forward Semi Ojeleye out of the Celtics' rotation, it threw the Cavs' game plan "for a loop."
"Initially, he's been playing [Semi] Ojeleye in, so that's kind of been Kyle's matchup when he comes into the game," Lue explained. "But he didn't play him tonight so it kind of threw us for a loop."
Korver -- who didn't see second-half action until there were fewer than two minutes remaining in the third quarter -- scored 7 points on 2-of-6 shooting. For what it's worth, Cleveland is 8-1 this postseason when the sharpshooting 37-year-old reaches double-digit scoring figures.
With that, the Cavs now find themselves on the brink of elimination, trailing the Celtics three games to two in their best-of-seven series. Game 6 between the two teams is slated for Friday night in Cleveland. It will be interesting to see whether Lue opts to make any rotation adjustments between now and then.
