LOOK | Original artist paints over LeBron James mural in LA following earlier vandalism

Could the infamous "LeBron drama" already be coming to California before the season even starts?

"The grass isn't always greener"? Perhaps that's the case here.

Much was made of LeBron James' decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers (again) and join the Los Angeles Lakers. While Clevelanders lamented the loss of their hometown superstar, Angelinos seemingly rejoiced as the greatest player of his generation made his way to arguably the most-storied franchise in NBA history.

Local artist Jonas Never (@never1959) even decided to mark the occasion by painting an impressive mural of James in his new digs, declaring him, "The King of LA."

However, it appears not everyone in LA was happy to see LeBron bring his talents to the West Coast. After all, wil already-beloved stars like West, Elgin, Magic, Kareem, and Kobe, LeBron no longer has the monopoly on greatness he had with the Cavs.

One of those fans took matters into their own hands by vandalizing Never's mural with graffiti, declaring, "We don't want you." Never later came back and retouched the piece, removing the word "of".

While Laker faithful insist the vandals do NOT represent the majority of fans, it still came off as a black eye, especially when James seemed to be universally beloved in Northeast Ohio.

Well, the controversy appeared to continue Wednesday, when it was discovered that the mural hadn't just been vandalized again, but completely whited out.

Thinking it was another "hater", many on social media expressed outrage, saying Los Angeles "didn't deserve LeBron."

As it turns out, though, the mural wasn't painted over by vandals, but by the artist himself. Apparently Never was not happy with the controversy his work of art apparently stirred up, and decided to end it on his terms, once and for all.

Could the infamous "LeBron drama" already be coming to California before the season even starts? We'll have to wait and see.
