KENT, Ohio — Nicolas Timberlake had 22 points as Towson defeated Kent State 73-58.
Antonio Rizzuto had 18 points for the Tigers (6-3), who raced out to a 19-2 lead and led by as many as 21 in the first half. Cam Holden had seven points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Golden Flashes (4-3) managed to cut the deficit to three with only 5:50 to play, but never scored again as Towson ended the game on a 12-0 run. Solon native Sincere Carry had 17 points and Giovanni Santiago added 16 points.
With two losses in its last three games, KSU will try to right the ship Thursday night at home against Detroit Mercy.
