Cleveland State men's basketball blows late lead, falls to Milwaukee 68-64 in OT

CSU led by as many as nine in the second half, but BJ Freeman's 3-pointer kept the game going and the Panthers eventually pulled ahead in the extra period.

CLEVELAND — BJ Freeman had 24 points including the game-tying 3 and Milwaukee beat Cleveland State 68-64 in overtime on Thursday night.

Freeman had six rebounds for the Panthers (10-5, 4-1 Horizon League). Justin Thomas scored nine points while going 2 of 9 from the floor, including 1 for 5 from distance, and 4 for 6 from the line. Kentrell Pullian shot 3 for 13, including 2 for 7 from beyond the arc to finish with eight points, while adding seven rebounds.

Tristan Enaruna led the Vikings (8-8, 3-2) in scoring, finishing with 16 points. Tujautae Williams added 13 points, 13 rebounds and two steals for Cleveland State. Jayson Woodrich also put up nine points and 10 rebounds.

CSU led by as many as nine in the second half and by three with just 17 seconds to go when Freeman nailed his shot following an offensive rebound. The Vikes then went in front 64-60 in the extra period before the Panthers scored the last eight to seal it.

Cleveland State will look to get back on track Saturday afternoon when it hosts Green Bay at the Wolstein Center.
