Cleveland State women's basketball pulls away from Milwaukee 81-50 for 16th straight win

The Vikings have not lost since their season opener against nationally ranked Iowa State.

CLEVELAND — Amele Ngwafang scored 14 points and hauled in 10 rebounds and two other Cleveland State players scored in double figures as the Vikings pulled away for an 81-50 victory over Milwaukee Thursday night.

The win was CSU's 16th straight, and they haven't lost since the season opener against nationally ranked Iowa State in November. The Vikes led by just three at halftime this evening before a 28-12 third quarter helped put the Panthers away.

Carmen Villalobos added 13 points and five assists off the bench and Deja Williams scored 12. The Vikings shot 48.4% from the field, including makes on seven of their 13 3-point attempts.

Morgan Walstad and Anna Lutz led Milwaukee (6-9, 4-3 Horizon League) with 10 points apiece. In addition, Sagamore Hills native Hallie Majoros returned home and scored eight points.

Cleveland State will look to continue its winning ways Saturday afternoon when it hosts Green Bay at the Wolstein Center, the final matchup of a four-game homestand.
