Cleveland State women's basketball pulls away in 2nd half to beat Purdue Fort Wayne 85-59

CLEVELAND — Nadia Dumas had 19 points and seven rebounds and Cleveland State blew open a four-point halftime lead to run past Purdue Fort Wayne 85-69 Thursday night.

The Vikings (11-3, 6-2 Horizon League) out-scored the Mastodons 30-12 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Willowick native Destiny Leo added 15 points and five assists for CSU.

Sylare Starks led Fort Wayne (5-12, 4-6) with 20 points while Aurora alum Shayla Sellers had 15 with nine boards. The Dons have now lost 12 of their last 14, with one of those wins coming via forfeit.

Still tied for second place in the conference, Cleveland State will try to sweep the season series from Fort Wayne Saturday afternoon when the two teams meet again in Indiana.
