CLEVELAND — The 2019 Cleveland Browns season is down to just one more week.
Did anyone think that we'd be talking about a 6-9 football team at Christmas when the season began? This was supposed to be a march to the playoffs, not a march to a potential coaching change.
That's unfortunately where we're at.
The Browns lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium and were officially eliminated from the postseason. There were more head-scratching play calls, more in-game strange decisions, and more players venting frustration at head coach Freddie Kitchens.
It can't go on like this for another season, right?
Before Sunday's game kicked off, there were reports surfacing that the Browns could look at Urban Meyer in a coaching search.
Even if the Browns win this Sunday in Cincinnati to match last year's win total of 7, it's difficult to find justification for Kitchens to be back next season. This season has had too much dysfunction, not enough discipline, and has wasted the growth of players like Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, and of course, Myles Garrett.
Someone will have to be accountable for that.
