Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward gifts local teachers with shopping spree

The special occasion was made possible with the help of the Dream Builders Foundation.

Late August into early September marks the start of back-to-school for most children. Many of them head back to school in style, but what about the teachers? The unsung heroes?

With the help of Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward and the Dream Builders Foundation, a group of local teachers will head back to school in style too.

On Tuesday, Ward took all of the teachers from Carylwood Intermediate School in Bedford Heights to Great Northern Mall for a shopping spree at JCPenny.

More than two dozen teachers were in attendance for the special occasion. The school district posted pictures to social media of the experience. JCPenny also donated $1,000 to Carlywood to provide socks and underwear for kids in need.

After forgoing his final year of eligibility at The Ohio State University, Ward, a graduate of Nordonia High School in Macedonia, was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
