CLEVELAND — Due to a recent COVID-19 outbreak, the Cleveland Browns will be without 18 players -- including several starters -- when they host the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday.
With that in mind, let's take a look at what the Browns' depth chart will likely look like in their Week 15 matchup:
Quarterback
- Nick Mullens
- Kyle Lauletta
With Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum both on the COVID-19 list, Nick Mullens is in line to start after having been signed from Cleveland's practice squad. The Browns also re-signed Kyle Lauletta, who served as their third-string quarterback behind Mayfield and Keenum during the offseason.
Now in his fourth season in the NFL, Mullens spent three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, amassing a 5-11 record in 16 career starts.
Running back
- Nick Chubb
- D'Ernest Johnson
- Demetric Felton
- John Kelly
Fullback
- Andy Janovich
Kareem Hunt, who was already set to miss Monday's game due to an ankle injury, is the only Browns running back to land on the COVID-19 list this week. Expect for a heavy dose of Nick Chubb, with Demetric Felton possessing the potential to become more involved in Cleveland's passing game.
Wide receiver
- Donovan Peoples-Jones
- Rashard Higgins
- Anthony Schwartz
- Ja'Marcus Bradley
Jarvis Landry remains on the COVID-19 list, but the delay of this week's game allowed for enough time for Anthony Schwartz to return from concussion protocols. Donovan Peoples-Jones has been the Browns' leading receiver this season and Rashard Higgins and Ja'Marcus Bradley each have experience under his belt.
Tight end
- David Njoku
- Harrison Bryant
- Miller Forristall
Austin Hooper is on the COVID-19 list, but David Njoku has been reactivated after missing last week's win vs. the Ravens. Harrison Bryant is also set to make his return from a high ankle sprain suffered in Cleveland's Week 12 loss to Baltimore.
Offensive line
Left tackle
- Joel Bitonio
Left guard
- Michael Dunn
- Hjalte Froholdt
Center
- JC Tretter
- Nick Harris
Right guard
- Wyatt Teller
Right tackle
- Blake Hance
- Alex Taylor
The delay of this week's game allowed for enough time for Wyatt Teller to return from the COVID-19 list -- but also enough time for James Hudson III to be added to it. With left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. still out, it appears the Browns will slide Pro Bowl guard Joel Bitonio to left tackle, with Michael Dunn set to start at left guard.
Defensive line
Left defensive end
- Myles Garrett
- Joe Jackson
Right defensive end
- Takkarist McKinley
- Porter Gustin
Left defensive tackle
- Malik Jackson
- Jordan Elliott
Right defensive tackle
- Sheldon Day
- Tommy Togiai
Jadeveon Clowney being placed on the COVID-19 list means that Takkarist McKinely -- who returned from the COVID-19 list thanks to the delay -- is set to start opposite Myles Garrett. At defensive tackle, Malik McDowell is on the COVID-19 list, which likely means an increase in playing time for Sheldon Day and Jordan Elliott.
Linebacker
WILL
- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
- Malcolm Smith
MIKE
- Anthony Walker Jr.
- Elijah Lee
SAM
- Sione Takitaki
- Will Harvey Jr.
With Anthony Walker Jr. returning from the COVID-19 list after missing last week's win vs. the Ravens, the Browns will have all three of their starting linebackers available on Monday. Cleveland, however, will be lacking depth, with Mack Wilson Sr., Jacob Phillips and Tony Fields II each on the COVID-19 list.
Cornerback
Left cornerback
- Denzel Ward
- Brian Allen
Right cornerback
- Greedy Williams
- Herb Miller
Nickel
- M.J. Stewart
With Greg Newsome II being out with a concussion and Troy Hill and A.J. Green on the COVID-19 list, Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams were the only cornerbacks on Cleveland's current roster before Brian Allen and Herb Miller were activated from the practice squad. Safety M.J. Stewart, meanwhile, is the most likely candidate to handle nickel duties on Monday.
Safety
Strong safety
- John Johnson III
- Javonte Moffatt
Free safety
- M.J. Stewart
- Richard LeCounte III
- Tedric Thompson
John Johnson III was activated on Monday, while Ronnie Harrison Jr. and Grant Delpit remain on the COVID-19 list. When not playing nickel, M.J. Stewart could also spend time at free safety, with Richard LeCounte III likely in line for the most significant playing time of his rookie season.
Special teams
Kicker
- Chase McLaughlin
Punter
- Dustin Colquitt
Long-snapper
- Charley Hughlett
After missing last weekend's win vs. the Ravens, punter Jamie Gillain remains on the COVID-19 list, leaving Dustin Colquitt in line for his second straight start.
