Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry gives speech at LeBron James' I PROMISE School; VIDEO, GALLERY

On Tuesday, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry made a special stop by LeBron James' I PROMISE School in Akron.

Since arriving in Northeast Ohio earlier this year, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry has made a habit of giving memorable speeches.

But as opposed to the expletive-filled rant that was captured on "Hard Knocks" last summer, Landry delivered a much different speech while visiting LeBron James' I PROMISE School in Akron on Tuesday.

"I'll tell you what, I've been here for about an hour and from the moment I walked in here it's felt like family," Landry said. "I see that on your guys' shirts and that's so important. Because a family that's together is a strong family. And I walked around and I've seen the resources that you guys have and that's been presented to you guys and it's something at your age I wish I had -- I honestly wish I had. I was born and raised in Louisiana, similar to this, similar to Akron. But this right here, this school, this community, is about to change things for a long time -- for a long time.

"LeBron is an idol of mine. And when I heard about this, I reached out to my team and asked how I could be a part of this or just come by and speak or whatever it was, whatever I could do. And it's an honor. It really is. It's an honor. And to the men and women standing on the outside, take a bow for real because this is something I know a lot of kids around the world need -- like desperately need. A lot of families desperately need -- desperately need. I want to thank you guys first off. I really do, I want to thank you guys.

"Lastly, I'm here. I'm excited to be a Cleveland Brown.

Opened in July, the I PROMISE School is currently the home to 240 third and fourth-grade at-risk students in Akron area. The $8 million public school founded by the LeBron James Family Foundation will expand to host grades 1-8 by 2022.
