Former Cleveland Browns LT Joe Thomas hints at new Great Lakes Brewery beer on 'Joe Thomas Day'

On a day in Cleveland named in his honor, former Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas hinted at an upcoming collaboration with Great Lakes Brewery.

CLEVELAND -- How does Joe Thomas celebrate the day in Cleveland named in his honor?

By drinking beer.

Hours into the first official Joe Thomas Day (7/3), which was named in honor of his jersey number following his retirement earlier this year, the former Cleveland Browns left tackle took to post a picture of a half-full beer. Insisting he was performing "research," Thomas also revealed what appears to be an upcoming collaboration with Great Lakes Brewery.

Although no name has been revealed for the future Hall of Famer's brew, he certainly appears to be doing his due diligence. After one follower accused him of simply drinking Bud Light, Thomas retorted by stating his research "involves drinking man different types to figure out what the right recipe entails."

Although the 10-time Pro Bowl selection declined to reveal a release date for his new brew, this much already appears to be clear: Thomas' Great Lakes Brewery collaboration will feature an alcohol by volume (ABV) of fittingly enough, 7.3 percent.

Following 11 seasons with the Browns, Thomas announced his retirement in March after suffering a season-ending triceps tear during the 2017 campaign. Later this year, the team he spent his entire NFL career with will enshrine his consecutive snaps played streak of 10,363 in its official 'Ring of Honor.'
