GoFundMe raising money for man seen falling from van in Muni Lot

The scary moment was captured during a live broadcast.

CLEVELAND — A GoFundMe page is raising money to help pay medical bills for a man seen falling from a van in the Municipal Lot on Sunday.

Video of the scary moment went viral on social media, though it was frequently posted out of context, according to the victim's son.

The man, identified as 40-year-old Andy Shepherd, was seen in the background of a live broadcast standing on top of a van to take photos with his phone. He fell suddenly and appeared to hit his head on the pavement.

According to the GoFundMe page, created by Shepherd's son, Andy Shepherd suffered a seizure prior to the fall. He was not intoxicated, according to his son, and reportedly suffered a broken shoulder, six broken ribs and a fractured skull with a blood clot.

Shepherd, who is a father to three according to the GoFundMe page, has a history of seizures.

"He’s been epileptic since he was around 18, but at this point he had been seizure free for 10 months and on medication," his son wrote.
