CLEVELAND — In what marked their final game before the bye week, the Cleveland Browns lost to the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 32-28 on Sunday.

For each game during the 2019 season, we'll be tracking the star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s performance -- both on and off the field -- in a weekly piece titled "OBJ Watch."

The numbers

After catching just a total of four combined passes for 47 yards in the past two weeks, Beckham turned in his best performance since Cleveland's Week 2 victory over the New York Jets.

Targeted 11 times -- which tied a season-high -- the 3-time Pro Bowl selection caught six passes for 101 yards, which marked the second time this season he's topped the 100-yard mark in a game.

Beckham's best play of the game came with five minutes remaining in the second quarter, when he hauled in a leaping 41-yard reception to put the Browns in Seattle territory.

Through his first six games with the Browns, Beckham has caught 29 passes for 436 yards. After catching his first touchdown of the season vs. the Jets in Week 2, the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year has now been held scoreless in four consecutive games, which ties two other occasions for a career-high.

Fashion watch

After ditching on-field wristwear the last few weeks, Beckham returned to wearing the same $190,000 Richard Mille watch that caused such a stir when he made his Browns debut vs. the Titans last month.

As for his footwear, Beckham took the field for pregame warmups in a wheat colorway of his signature Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 OBJ Uptempo Cleat. Inspired by his favorite pair of Nike Air Force 1s, the cleats are a part of a season-long program in which Beckham is paying homage to his own personal sneaker collection.

Key quote

On the Browns' 2-4 start to the 2019 season:

“The funny thing is, is that Cleveland has had this reputation of losing, and we are all sitting here trying to figure out why we didn’t win. Not like ‘oh we lost another game’ but trying to figure out why we didn’t win. This is a team that could possibly be 6-0 or 5-1, but that is not our record. We are 2-4, and we are 2-4 for a reason, so that is something that we have to figure out for the backstretch. This stuff is going to happen but it is a long season.

"Teams can catch on fire and teams can win 5 games in a row, but it is not going to happen like that. Us as a team, we have to find a way to eliminate all of those things but I was very proud of us today for our effort. I woke up today and on my mind I wanted to bring a lot of energy. I just hate losing and at times I feel that in the past, I have let this team down as far as not bringing the energy every single day and it is something that I will never not bring to the field again. I need to be a leader and continue being a better teammate, and pushing those guys is something that I put on my plate.”

What's next?

Following their upcoming bye, it won't take long for Cleveland to return to the national spotlight. On Oct. 27, the Browns will head to Foxborough to face the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in one of the most highly anticipated games of the 2019 season.

As far as Cleveland's passing game is concerned, quarterback Baker Mayfield, Beckham and fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry will have their hands full. With Stephon Gilmore and Jason McCourty starting at cornerback, New England lays claim to the league's second-best passing defense with just 161 yards allowed through the air per game.
