Report: Odell Beckham Jr. doesn't plan to ask for trade, unhappy with Browns offense

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Odell Beckham Jr. doesn't plan on asking for a trade from the Cleveland Browns following the 2019 season.

Last week, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer sent shock waves through the NFL -- and especially Cleveland -- when he reported that Odell Beckham Jr. had told opposing players that he wanted to leave the Browns.

But according to a new report from CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, while Beckham is unhappy with his team's offense, he doesn't intend to ask for a trade at season's end.

"Odell Beckham's difficult first season with the Browns has not gone according to plan, with the receiver and the Browns offense struggling much of the year, but the former All-Pro does not plan to request a trade, according to sources with knowledge of the situation," La Canfora wrote.

"Beckham is among a core of veteran Browns players, however, who are interested to see what changes, if any, are made to the team's staff and scheme in 2020, with some deep concerns about the lack of evolution in a passing game many expected to be among the best in football."

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. celebrates after a 35-yard touchdown during the first half of a game against the Miami Dolphins at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland on Sunday, November 24, 2019.

Acquired from the New York Giants in a blockbuster trade in March, Beckham has caught 59 passes for 844 yards and 2 touchdowns through his first 13 games with the Browns, which puts him on pace for the least productive season of his career. And while the LSU product has been dealing with a sports hernia injury that his hampered both his ability and availability in practice, his misuse in Cleveland's offense hasn't gone unnoticed by those around the league.

"Beckham has voiced his displeasure with the offense with confidants and some friends around the league, including opponents at times before or after games, but does not plan to formally ask to be dealt this offseason," La Canfora wrote. "But the Browns may have plenty to sort through after the season, and general manager John Dorsey has been one of the most aggressive deal-makers in football."
