CLEVELAND -- In just a few hours, the whole world will learn who the Cleveland Browns have selected with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Cleveland general manager John Dorsey, however, has known who that player will be for "about six weeks," according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Appearing on ESPN ahead of Thursday night's first round, Mortensen detailed the timeline of not only Dorsey's decision-making, but when he revealed the pick to his Cleveland colleagues. Per Mortensen, Dorsey shared his pick with Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam "about a month ago," but didn't share the pick's identity with head coach Hue Jackson until just two days ago.

According to multiple reports -- and betting odds -- the player in question is believed to be Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield. Early Thursday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that general managers and head coaches around the league believed the Browns would select the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, who has been a polarizing prospect throughout the draft process due to both his size (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) and potential off-field concerns.

That, however, doesn't seem to be a concern for Dorsey, who appears undeterred by what some perceive to be Mayfield's brash attitude.

"Just meeting with him, he is a pleasant fella," Dorsey said at a press conference last week. "He is pretty sharp. He is fine. I have no problems with him.”

ESPN's Josina Anderson, who is stationed in Cleveland, also said she believes the Browns will select Mayfield.

Whether or not they will, we'll find out soon enough. But for Dorsey, it will merely be old news.
