Baker Mayfield might throw righty.

But he also has a mean left-handed swing.

On Friday, the Cleveland Browns quarterback showcased just that during a trip to Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training, where he visited friend -- and reigning National League MVP -- Christian Yelich. There, Mayfield stepped to the batter's box to take some big league batting practice swings -- including a couple that drew some oohs and ahhs from onlookers.

Prior to his Heisman Trophy-winning college football career, Mayfield starred as a middle-of-the-order hitter on what Baseball America described as a "loaded Lake Travis (Texas) High" team his junior and senior years. Per the website, Mayfield hit for a .338 batting average with 22 doubles, 47 runs scored and 41 RBIs in his two-year varsity career, playing alongside future minor leaguers Daniel Castano (Marlins) and Connor Mayes (Royals).

As for his relationship with Yelich, Mayfield met and developed a relationship with the 2018 NL MVP while training for the NFL Draft last year.

“We’re pretty good friends,” Yelich said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We’ve been working out at the same facility. He played in the Rose Bowl and he stayed out there; a lot of NFL guys come train there. I ended up getting traded to the Brewers and he went and got a bunch of Brewers stuff, so he’s repping the Brewers pretty good this year."

Following his NFL debut last September -- a 21-17 comeback victory over the New York Jets -- Mayfield stepped to the postgame podium wearing Yelich's Brewers jersey.

"Christian Yelich for NL MVP," he signed off.

As it turned out, Mayfield wasn't making a plea so much as a proclamation.
