Donna Kelce discusses trip to see both of her NFL star sons' playoff games in the same day

Speaking with 3News' Jay Crawford, Donna Kelce discussed her unique 1,300-mile journey to see two NFL games in one day.

CLEVELAND — When the NFL released its schedule for last weekend's Wild Card round, it created a potential conundrum for Donna Kelce; with the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs both set to play in separate games on Sunday, the mother of Eagles center Jason Kelce and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce seemingly had a decision to make.

But for Donna, who raised the Kelce brothers in Cleveland Heights and now lives in Orlando, no decision was necessary. Instead, the mother of the Kelce brothers embarked on a 1,300-mile one-day trip that saw her watch Jason's Eagles lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Florida before arriving in Kansas City in time to see Travis' Chiefs beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Donna's journey -- which was documented by the NFL's official Twitter account in real-time -- received plenty of attention, as did her interruption of Travis' postgame press conference. On Thursday, 3News' Jay Crawford caught up with Donna Kelce to find out what it was like to take such a unique journey.

"It kind of took off like nuts, but it really was fun," Kelce told Crawford. "It was a challenge for me, I had a good time. I was ultimately trying to see both of the games and it worked out."

Kelce also noted that Travis, one of the most accomplished tight ends in NFL history, was upset when the Browns passed on him in the 2013 NFL Draft.
