KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Norton High School graduate is headed to the NFL.
Tyler Scott was selected by the Chicago Bears during the Round 4 of the NFL Draft as the No. 133 overall pick on Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year-old graduated from Norton High School in 2020, where he was a three-sport athlete for the Panthers playing football, basketball and running on the track team.
During three seasons at the University of Cincinnati, Scott amassed 1,439 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
At the NFL Combine, Scott recorded a 4.44 40-yard dash and a 39.5 vertical jump. Scott's athleticism score was 84, ranking fourth for wide receivers at the 2023 Combine.
Scott shared a video on Twitter of him and his family reacting to the news of his selection.
The Norton native is the second Northeast Ohioan drafted to the NFL from the University of Cincinnati this weekend. On Friday night, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy graduate and Akron native Tre Tucker was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in Round 3 of the NFL draft.
