The city of Lakewood has a big goal to meet, aimed at being more environmentally friendly.

During Monday's city council meeting, the board voted "yes" to strive towards 100 percent renewable energy.

The decision makes it the first suburb in Ohio to make the commitment.

Cincinnati and Cleveland recently did the same, vowing to move towards renewable energy sources like wind and solar by 2050.

Lakewood hopes to begin by adding solar panels on four city buildings.
