Girls In STEM | Betsy Kling meets an 8-year-old 'Mighty Mind'

Betsy had a chance to meet young Nikaya Baranwal, winner of the 2018 National Inventors Hall of Fame Mighty Minds contest

Earlier this week, the 46th annual National Inventors Hall of Fame induction ceremonies were held in Washington D.C., and our own Betsy Kling was there to take in all of the fun.

While she was there, Betsy had a chance to meet young Nikaya Baranwal, winner of the 2018 National Inventors Hall of Fame Mighty Minds contest. For the competition, kids are asked to submit a video talking about their innovative invention, and who is their inspiration.

8-year-old Nikaya, who hails from upstate New York, made a 'domino effect,' as she explained to Betsy when the two chatted. She was part of the Hall of Fame's Camp Invention program, where children are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
