Girls in STEM | CEO of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers is a true STEMbassador

SHPE held its convention in Cleveland recently

All year long, WKYC will be spotlighting Girls in STEM, an initiative that inspires girls to embrace science, technology, engineering and math.

A few weeks ago, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers or SHPE held its convention in Cleveland.

More than 6,000 Hispanic students, professionals and industry leaders were here to encourage STEM careers and improve diversity in the workforce. 

In fact, companies were hiring right on the spot.

I had a chance to sit down and talk with Raquel Tamez, the CEO of SHPE and a true STEMbassador. She talks about the role of SHPE and how they are promoting STEM representation for Hispanic students.
