Girls In STEM | Dr (to be) Cassidy Williams

A Hudson, Ohio teen is eyeing a career in medicine.

Western Reserve Academy junior Cassidy Williams, of Hudson, was intrigued by a biology class her freshman year.

Now, two years later, she has a couple prestigious internships under her belt and is aiming for a career as an MD, PhD.

She was in the DocPrep program with Cleveland Clinic, assisting in the Touhy Lab where breast cancer vaccination research is show success. She also spent time in Houston, Texas at the Baylor School of Medicine learning some of the basics of what it takes to be a doctor.

WRA, a private school located in Hudson, is the only high school in the country to offer Immunology classes of this kind.

STEMbassadors, a weekly series that is part of WKYC's multi-year, multi-platform initiative called Girls In STEM: Growing Curiosity, features women and girls (and occasionally men) doing great things in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
