Girls in STEM | President & CEO of the Great Lakes Science Center wants to get families involved

It's important to get kids inspired early, especially young girls, because women are very under-represented in these fields.

All year long, WKYC will be spotlighting Girls in STEM, an initiative that inspires girls to embrace science, technology, engineering and math.

It's important to get kids inspired early, especially young girls, because women are very under-represented in these fields.

Here in Northeast Ohio, The Great Lakes Science Center is our one stop for all things STEM.

Kirsten Ellenbogen, President and CEO at the Science Center, says not only is it important to include girls, but get the whole family involved.

"Part of what we do is to make sure we are including the whole family when we talk about science," she said.
