Girls in STEM: The magic behind the Greater Cleveland Aquarium

Biology, chemistry and physics all come into play to help us understand all these different animals and how to care for them.

All year long, WKYC will be spotlighting Girls in STEM, an initiative that inspires girls to embrace science, technology, engineering and math.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is another jewel we have here in Northeast Ohio. It provides a chance for us to get up close and personal with both freshwater and saltwater animals, all 2,500 of them.

Biology, chemistry and physics all come into play to help us understand all these different animals and how to care for them.

During Tuesday's Girls in STEM, Betsy Kling introduces us to Stephanie White, Marine Biologist and curator for the Greater Cleveland Aquarium.

The animal care department, which White manages, works round the clock taking care of the 50 exhibits including the shark exhibit.
