Girls in STEM | There's still time for your child to take part in Camp Invention this summer

At Camp Invention, children are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

You've likely heard the phrase 'necessity is the mother of invention.'

But how do you inspire young people to be curious enough to create the next big thing?

That's exactly what they're doing at Camp Invention, where children are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Camp Invention is led by experienced local educators and new curriculum is introduced each year, inspired by the inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. For one week in the summer, your child’s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged and developed in fun and exciting ways. The camp's top priority is to inspire future innovators and build their confidence in the natural ability to dream and create.

On Friday's Donovan Live, Betsy Kling was in Rocky River and was joined by Rebecca Kette, the director of Camp Invention at Orchard STEM School in Cleveland.

There are still Camp Invention opportunities in Northeast Ohio this summer for your child to take advantage of:

  • Akron, Crouse Community Learning Center, July 23
  • Barberton, Barberton Elementary School West, July 16
  • Beachwood, Beachwood Middle School, July 23
  • Canton, Faircrest Memorial Middle School, July 23
  • Medina, Buckeye Elementary School, July 16
  • Rocky River, Kensington Intermediate School, July 23
