Two children injured in crash involving Amish buggy in Geauga County

The crash happened at Madison and Nauvoo Roads in Middlefield Township.

GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — Geauga County Sheriff Scott Hildenbrand tells 3News that a crash involving an Amish buggy with children inside has closed Madison Rd. and Nauvoo Rd. in Middlefield Township. The crash happened just before 1 p.m. Thursday. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 3News that two eleven-year-old boys were flown to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. One of the boys was seriously injured, the other suffered minor injuries. A 30-year-old woman was taken to University Hospitals.

Two other vehicles, a 2019 Nissan truck, and a 2019 Dodge truck, were also involved in the crash.

Two medical choppers and several ambulances are on the scene.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation by the Geauga County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
