Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash in Ashtabula County

One person was killed in the crash.

ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — EDITOR'S NOTE: The video in the player above is from a previous, unrelated story.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Ashtabula is investigating a fatal traffic crash in New Lyme Township, in Ashtabula County. 

It happened around 1:10 p.m. on Thursday June 10, 2021 on Dodgeville Rd. near the intersection of Brownville Rd. Troopers say a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, white in color, was traveling eastbound on Dodgeville Rd. Law enforcement says the Chevrolet tried to turn right onto Brownville Rd. when it went off the left-hand side of the road, hitting a tree, a guide wire and another tree before coming to a stop. 

33-year-old Dustin Wolf of Orwell was driving the car. He died at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it is still actively investigating the crash. There were no other victims.
