Cleveland man killed, 3 hurt in Streetsboro crash

Route 14 was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.

STREETSBORO, Ohio — Authorities say state Route 14 has reopened after a deadly crash closed the roadway for several hours between Price and Diagonal roads Wednesday morning.

One person was killed in the crash, which occurred just before 7 a.m. between Lake Rockwell and Diagonal roads. Three others were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, authorities told 3News at the scene.

Streetsboro police say the head-on crash involved a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2001 Toyota Echo, which police say suffered "catastrophic damage."

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 59-year-old Tyrone Taylor, of Cleveland, was driving westbound when his car veered left of center and struck the Chevrolet.

Taylor died at the scene and his two passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as a 34-year-old Ravenna man, who was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
