CLEVELAND — Winter is hanging on tight to its remaining hours as spring officially starts late tomorrow night at 11:06 p.m. Snow will continue to diminish this evening. Highs were only in the 30s today.
We'll try to briefly warm up tomorrow as another system zips down from the north. Winds will pick up with gusts over 35 mph possible during the day. Temps will push into the mid and upper 40s out ahead of this next system -- but just like that, we'll return to the colder air Wednesday and Thursday behind this system. More snow showers are possible Wednesday
Attention will then turn toward a system late week that will bring some rain and wet snow to Northern Ohio late Friday. As of right now, the track goes right through northern Ohio, bringing us rain and snow chances.
In terms of any big warm-ups, we'll have to wait until perhaps next week. Signs point toward a trough developing out west, which would help push the temps upward in the eastern U.S. Model guidance still remains split on this idea, but what we do know is that we'll have to wait awhile before any spring-like air returns.
3-day forecast
TONIGHT: Snow showers diminish. Cold with lows in the upper 20s.
TOMORROW: Becoming windy. Brief push of mild air. A rain or wet snow shower is possible. Highs in the mid to upper 40s.
WEDNESDAY: Scattered snow showers and colder again. Upper 30s.
THURSDAY: Brighter but cold. 30s.
