Few showers possible Thursday along with warmer temperatures

Looking ahead to the weekend, a strong cold front brings rain Saturday with cooler weather Sunday.

Thursday will be warming up with comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s. Mostly cloudy skies are expected through much of the day with a few scattered showers. Quick heavy downpours are possible but it won't be an all day washout.

Friday the sunshine returns with near record warmth. Highs most likely will warm into the lower 80s ahead of a strong cold front. It'll become breezy through the afternoon and clouds are expected to start moving in Friday evening.

Saturday scattered showers are expected to develop across the area as that cold front moves through and a few spotty thunderstorms are possible. It will feel muggy and highs climbing into the middle 70s.

Behind that front cooler air will move in on Sunday under a sunny sky. Highs are expected to climb into the upper 50s.
