Torrential rains are moving across the area

CLEVELAND — 9:00 p.m.: What's happening out east? The Columbiana, Trumbull and Mahoning County areas are really being impacted tonight.  Here's video of Route 11 at Route 224 in Canfield.

8:00 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warning is over

7:25 p.m.: Downpour in Cleveland

Our Tiffany Tarpley sent back this video of conditions on the Innerbelt in downtown Cleveland:

7:14 p.m.: The National Weather Service has now issued a Flash Flood Warning through 11:15 p.m. this evening for Central Cuyahoga County and Northeastern Lorain County.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. This warning extends the Flash Food warning for all of Cuyahoga County. Thunderstorms with torrential rains of .90 inch in only 15 min has been reported in Fairview Park. The torrential rain will continue to move across Cuyahoga which is primed for flooding.

Locations that will experience flooding include Cleveland, Lorain, Elyria, Parma, Lakewood, Euclid, Cleveland Heights, Westlake, North Ridgeville, Solon, Avon Lake, Warrensville Heights, Highland Hills, North Olmsted, Garfield Heights, Shaker Heights, Maple Heights, South Euclid, Avon and Rocky River.

6:57 p.m.:  The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cuyahoga County and the Northeast part of Lorain County until 7:45 p.m. this evening. Betsy Kling has the latest as we begin Donovan Live:

6:47 p.m.: A Flash Flood Warning is now in effect until 10:45 p.m. for Southeastern Portage County and Mahoning County.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Flash Flood Warning was issued until 8:30 p.m. for the following areas: 

  • Northern Portage County, 
  • Southern Geauga County
  • Southern Cuyahoga County 
  • Northeastern Medina County
  • Northern Summit County   
  • East central Lorain County
