Power outages possible Thursday as strong winds hit Northeast Ohio: Weather alerts issued

Officials are warning that scattered power outages are possible as a round of strong winds swirl through the area.

CLEVELAND — Much warmer temperatures are here today, but the 70-degree heat comes at a price. This pre-spring warm up is coupled with strong winds and stormy conditions.

The National Weather Service warns that power outages are possible Thursday as wind gusts could hit 50 mph throughout Northeast Ohio.

Weather alerts have been triggered for most of the region with wind advisories in effect as follows:

Wind Advisory from noon until midnight Thursday:

- Ashland

- Cuyahoga

- Erie

- Huron

- Lorain

- Ottawa

- Richland

- Sandusky

- Seneca

Wind advisory from 4 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday:

- Ashtabula

- Lake
