AKRON, Ohio — The National Weather service has issued multiple severe weather alerts in the Akron-Canton area, in effect for at least much of the next hour.
Southwestern Stark County is currently under a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:45 p.m. Residents in the vicinity of Alliance, Louisville, and other localities should expect quarter-sized hail and winds of up to 60 miles per hour, along with possible downed trees and power lines.
Further north, the area of Summit County near Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and Tallmadge is experiencing a flash flood warning until 8 p.m. Officials say an inch of rain has already fallen and some flooding has already been reported.
