National Weather Service confirms tornado touchdown in Stark County

A tornado touchdown in Stark County has been confirmed by the National Weather Service from Sunday's storms.

CLEVELAND — An EF0 tornado touched down in Stark County Sunday,The National Weather Service confirmed Tuesday. 

A storm survey ,conducted Tuesday, indicated the tornado brought with it winds between 65 and 85 around 5:15 p.m. The twister hit about two miles southeast of Canal Fulton in Stark County.

The National Weather Service says the tornado tracked  3.6 miles to the northeast before dissipating just south of the Nimisila Reservoir.

The storm was part of a line of severe weather that pushed through the area Sunday evening bringing high winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes to northern Ohio.

An EF2 tornado hit Shelby in Richland where that storm tracked 17 miles and left substantial damage in its path.

No deaths or life-threatening injuries have been reported from either tornado.
