Thousands of power outages hit North Central, Northeast Ohio

A Wind Advisory remains in place until 1 p.m.

As a Wind Advisory remains in place for much of our area, some counties are seeing thousands of power outages.

According to FirstEnergy, portions of North Central are seeing the highest concentration of outages within our viewing area, though parts of Northeast Ohio have also been affected. Wind gusts could each up to 55 miles per hour, meaning residents should watch out for downed trees and power lines.

As of 12:45 p.m., the biggest outages in our viewing area are as follows:

  • Ashland County: 1,625
  • Cuyahoga County: 7,559
  • Erie County: 568
  • Geauga County: 2,142
  • Lake County: 408
  • Lorain County: 541
  • Medina County: 988
  • Portage County: 768
  • Richland County: 1,061
  • Stark County: 549
  • Summit County: 735

Cleveland Public Power also reports most of their customers have had their power restored as of just after 1:00 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the area stretching from Cuyahoga to Holmes counties until 1 p.m. Monday.
