Watching Barry head through the Midwest and into the East

Showers and storms will extend from the Tennessee and Ohio River valleys to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast tomorrow as what is left of Barry moves across the region.

Some areas across the interior mid-Atlantic and central Appalachians may receive locally heavy downpours capable of producing isolated incidents of flash flooding.

A storm system moving across the northern tier of the United States will trigger severe storms capable of producing damaging winds and brief, torrential downpours in the western Plains, parts of the Dakotas and Upper Midwest.

To the south of these storms, extreme heat and humidity will bake the Central and Southern states and expand into the Midwest and eastern mid-Atlantic. Hot, dry weather in the Southwest will continue to enhance the risk of wildfire development and spread.
