Damaging winds, hail, flooding downpours and tornadoes will all be possible from the storms. Showers and storms will also dampen the Ohio River Valley and western portions of the Tennessee River Valley.

Elsewhere, areas from the central Plains to the Midwest and western Great Lakes are forecast to be graced by sunshine and pleasantly warm air.

Extreme heat will build across the Southwest, while showers streak eastward through the northern Rockies and western High Plains.
