Heat will build from the central Plains into the Ohio Valley and lower Great Lakes. Typical summertime heat, humidity and afternoon thunderstorms are in store for the Southern states.

Meanwhile, showers and storms will erupt along a slight push of cooler air from the northern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan to Nebraska.

Monsoon storms will continue to bring an enhanced risk of flash flooding and dust storms to the Four Corners states.

Isolated storms are also possible as far west as the Sierra Nevada. Heat will continue in the Northwest.
