Some showers will dot the eastern Great Lakes region and interior parts of the northern mid-Atlantic as a weak disturbance slides eastward through the region.

A few heavy, gusty storms will erupt across the northern Plains, Tennessee River Valley, South Texas and the southern half of the Florida Peninsula. 

Elsewhere, dry and pleasant weather will grace much of the Southeast, Deep South and Upper Midwest, while summerlike heat bakes the Four Corners region and begins to expand into the western Plains.

Rain will move into Northern California and southern parts of the Pacific Northwest as a rare May storm system barrels into the West Coast.
