Weather across the nation on October 22, 2018

Another blast of winterlike air will dive into the Northeast tomorrow, bringing gusty winds and temperatures more typical of December than late October.

The cold air will be accompanied by rain and higher-elevation snow showers across New England.

A boundary separating warm air in the tropics from much cooler air across the central and eastern United States will continue to be the focal point for soaking rain and downpours from the central Gulf Coast to southern Texas and parts of the Four Corners region.

Given that parts of Texas have already experienced their wettest fall on record, the additional rainfall will only enhance the risk for flooding and cause already swollen streams and rivers to once again overflow their banks.

Cool, dry and tranquil conditions will grace much of the rest of the nation.
