Winter Storm Watch set for several Northeast Ohio counties in anticipation of weekend snow

Areas to the east and south should expect to see snow this weekend.

CLEVELAND — Here we go, everyone!

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for several Northeast Ohio counties for this weekend. Here's what we know so far:

There is a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Sunday evening through Monday afternoon for Ashtabula, Trumbull and Mahoning Counties. Heavy snow is possible, with snow amounts in excess of six inches. The resulting snow could make travel difficult and impact the morning commute.

Further south, there is also a Winter Storm Watch for Carroll and Tuscarawas counties from Sunday afternoon until Monday afternoon. Again, heavy snow possible with total snow accumulations potentially ranging between 4 and 10 inches.

"Something to note- the watch isn't the only area getting the snow, but as of now they have the best chance for 6"+," says 3News Chief Meteorologist Betsy Kling. "There will be impacts & accumulation otherwise & elsewhere. Still many more details to iron out."
