Lake effect snow pounds portions of Northeast Ohio; Winter Weather Advisory still in place

The advisory will last until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Get ready for another round of lake effect snow for Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a c that will be in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday. 

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions which will likely impact the Wednesday morning commute.

Lake effect snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches possible, but lesser totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected in the southern-half of Ashtabula County.

Early Wednesday, we received reports of white-out conditions from Lorain to western Cuyahoga County. The areas surrounding Garfield and Shaker Heights have also been impacted by snow, while much of Geauga County is also seeing significant snowfall.

According to 3News meteorologist Michael Estime, our lake effect snow machine will die down by Thursday, which will set us up for a good looking rest of the week and weekend.
