With a Winter Storm Watch active for several Northeast Ohio counties, many in the area are preparing for double-digit inches of snow.

But before WKYC chief meteorologist Betsy Kling braved this weekend's weather, she first opted to brave the grocery store.

Stocking up at the grocery store ahead of big storms is nothing new and while milk and bread have become the cliche, BusinessInsider.com recommends buying the following foods ahead of a snowstorm:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned soups and chili
  • Avocados
  • Bottled water
  • Protein bars
  • Crackers
  • Multivitamins
  • Canned beans
  • Dried meat
  • Nuts and trail mix
  • Cereal
  • Canned tuna
  • Seasoning

Will you be hitting the grocery store ahead of the storm and if so, what will you be buying? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter.
