Cleveland Cavaliers playoff loss reaction, 'Silly Season' of NFL Draft: Donovan Live Postgame Show

What concerned Jim Donovan and Dave DeNatale most about the Cavs' loss to Indiana? Plus, the season of crazy trade rumors leading to the NFL Draft is underway.

This was not the postgame show I expected to have with Jim Donovan on Monday.

I figured we'd be talking about a Cavaliers' Game 1 playoff victory and feeling great about things we saw at the Q on Sunday. Umm, not so much.

The Cavs were drilled by Indiana, 98-80, and frankly at times, the score didn't feel that close.

Let me say this: I'm not panicking yet. Not by a long shot. The Cavs have the NBA's best player and because of that, I think they can overcome the Pacers and still have a long playoff run.

However, there were things that concerned Jimmy and yours truly.

  • LeBron James was somewhat passive to start the game, a point addressed on Monday by Head Coach Tyronn Lue.
  • Kevin Love was virtually non-existent. He looked to me like he was waiting for Kyrie Irving to come be LBJ's 'Robin'
  • Jeff Green cannot be the Cavs' equivalent of Bluto from Animal House

Let's hope that the Cavs are able to make the proper adjustments and can start firing on all cylinders again. Otherwise, you'll hear more national observers like ESPN's Dan Dakich come down on LBJ and the Cavs as this series progresses.

Moving on to the NFL Draft

Did you see this tweet from Chad Forbes of NFL Draft Bites?

Tis the season for crazy talk around the NFL as we close in on the draft. It's like we're all punch-drunk out there!

Could you imagine the Browns trading out of #1, then possibly out of #4? Enough already.

I just want the Browns to make picks and stop accumulating assets. Is that too much to ask?

Jimmy and I talk about this rumor, plus what is happening in Berea as the Browns players report for offseason workouts, and the staff prepares for the draft.

Plus, there's a dynamite drop-in to wrap up the show about a bad weekend for Major League Baseball.
