AVON, Ohio — A project that has been more than two years in the making is finally set to be brought to life Thursday at Avon High School.

Foreign language and art students at Avon High School have been creating a project with guest artist George Woideck to represent each of the four languages taught at the school, which include French, English, Spanish and Mandarin.

The group has created four mosaic murals that are being installed at the back of the commons courtyard at the school. The murals will be placed above where the Kacher Garden will be planted in honor of former Avon High School Spanish teacher Caitlin Kacher, who passed away in 2019 after a battle with cancer.

The project began back in 2019 when the first pair of murals were created. The plan was to have the latter two completed in the spring of 2020, but that was unable to come to fruition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The date to have these completed had to be moved three times.
