How to navigate around Cleveland’s Little Italy construction on Mayfield Road

Get ready for some traffic delays.

CLEVELAND -- Orange barrels are taking over Little Italy.

Construction begins Monday to resurface Mayfield Road and a portion of Chester Avenue near University Circle.

Mayfield Road will only be open to westbound traffic during construction between Euclid Avenue and E. 126th Street. Eastbound drivers will be detoured along Euclid Avenue and Superior Road.

There’s also no on-street parking along Mayfield Road throughout the duration of the project.

Chester Avenue, meanwhile, will be resurfaced between E. 93rd Street and Euclid Avenue with traffic reduced to one lane in each direction.

Visitors to Little Italy are encouraged to use RTA’s Little Italy University Circle Rapid Station.

ODOT says the Mayfield Road resurfacing should be complete by July with the Chester Avenue portion finished in October.
