CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard “Hollywood” Higgins is looking to connect with fans, and in order to do that, he is taking his game to the alley, the bowling alley that is.

On Saturday, June 29, Higgins will host the “Bowl with Hollywood” event at AMF Brookgate Lanes in the Cleveland suburb of Brook Park.

“I am extremely excited to announce that we have the opportunity to host our very first ‘Bowl with Hollywood’ event,” Higgins said in a press release.

“In addition to football, bowling has become one of my favorite things to do, so I could not be more enthusiastic about bringing this event to a community that has already done so much for me, on both a personal and professional level. We are hopeful to make ‘Bowl with Hollywood’ an annual event that will continue for many years to come.”

The three-hour event, which gets underway at 3:30 p.m. and concludes at 6:30 p.m., is open to athletes ages 14-21 in an effort “bring the community together in a fun, yet safe environment while doing one of his favorite things: bowling.”

The “Bowl with Hollywood” event is free and will feature a tournament-style bowling competition, as well as free food and soft drinks. Registration is required through email, as hopeful participants must send their name and age to BowlwithHollywood@gmail.com.

A fifth-round pick of the Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft, Higgins had a career year in 2018.

Higgins turned 39 receptions into 572 yards, an average of 14.7 yards per catch, and ranked tied for second on the team with four receiving touchdowns. Higgins set new single-season career highs for receptions, yards, yards per catch and touchdowns in 2018.

Over his first three seasons with the Browns, Higgins converted his 72 receptions into 961 yards and six touchdowns.
