CLEVELAND -- A woman and her four children were already having a tough week when things took another bad turn in a hotel.
The Mathis family woke up in a room at the Days Inn on Euclid Avenue downtown to find bed bugs all over them.
The family was put in the hotel by the Red Cross after being burned out of their home Monday.
The mother says she was trying to secure a new place to stay by phone when she saw the bugs crawling on her sleeping children.
"I told all of them to get up and get dressed," said Princess Mathis. "And I had them sit on the furniture, because it was 3 in the morning. Where are we gonna go?"
The hotel manager said he's never had any reports of bed bugs before, but he immediately had exterminators spray rooms on that floor.
The Red Cross says it's never had problems with the hotel before.
The agency says the will take note of this incident, because it never wants to make things worse for families who've been through disasters.
