CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Animal Protective League is asking for the public's help to identify a man who allegedly is seen abusing a cat in video posted on social media.

The APL says the video shows him kicking a cat into the air, while laughing, dancing and being urged on by a group of people.

APL officials say the man is known on Instagram as @daedaefrm.bartlett and may live in the area of Arbor Park Village Apartments in Cleveland.

The Cleveland APL is very concerned about this incident as they say they are worried about the welfare of the cat but to humans as well.

“During this challenging time, the Cleveland APL and its humane investigations team remains fully committed to helping sick, injured, and abused animals,” said Cleveland APL President & CEO Sharon Harvey in a statement posted on Facebook early Wednesday morning. “We need help locating this suspect and sending the message that this type of overt, malicious animal abuse will not be tolerated in our community now or ever!”

Anyone with information on who this male is is asked to call the Cleveland APL's Humane Investigations Department at 216-377-1630.
