List: Where you can get a free turkey for Thanksgiving in Northeast Ohio

Several organizations across Northeast Ohio are providing Thanksgiving meals free of charge.

As Thanksgiving approaches, 3News has created a list of organizations offering free Thanksgiving meals for those in need.

3News will continue to update this list as more organizations announce pickups for Thanksgiving dinners. 

Hope Exchange 

The Hope Exchange will give 1,500 frozen turkeys as well as all the Thanksgiving trimmings and sides to make a Thanksgiving dinner a reality for some. The meal box will include a 12lb frozen turkey, mashed potatoes, canned green beans, canned corn, canned cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy packet and cornbread mix. 

The giveaway will happen on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following locations: 

  • Journey Church in Fairview Park 

  • Lincoln Park Academy in Cleveland

MetroHealth 

MetroHealth is partnering with the Insitute for H.O.P.E and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to help individuals in need. On Friday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers will be handing out turkeys to people in need at Buckeye Health Center and MetroHealth Main Campus.

St. Augustine Hunger Center and Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center

Catholic Charities will host its annual Thanksgiving Hot Meals event on Thursday, Nov. 24, at the St. Augustine Hunger Center and Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Anyone interested in receiving a meal is asked to call 216-377-3725 and provide their name, phone number, address and the number of meals needed.

TownHall

On Tuesday, Nov. 22, TownHall in Ohio City will host its 10th annual Feed the Need event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

At the event, Cleveland Browns’ Nick Chubb and Myles Garrett will be among the special guests serving out 4,000 turkey dinners to Northeast Ohio families in need.

United Way of Lake County 

The United Way of Lake County is hosting “Unites for the Holiday” where 300 Thanksgiving dinners will be given out. The event is being held on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the United Way of Lake County Office in Mentor.
